SEAN HUGHES sat at his desk, working on a few side cases that needed to be closed up. It had been a few days since anything had happened with the Troll case and Sean was starting to feel antsy about it. It wasn’t good when a case became stagnant. On the bright side, he wasn’t stuck in the conference room anymore. The office was clearing out, everyone leaving to enjoy Friday night.

“Excuse me; Detective Hughes, right?” a woman’s voice said.

Sean looked up into the blue eyes of Mandy Stafford, Gabriel’s whore informant. She was in a short black skirt, contrasting with her smooth ivory skin. Her blue shirt was skin tight with a plunging neckline, showing a decent amount of cleavage. Hmmmm 36B if I had to guess, Sean thought to himself. He didn’t hide that he was checking her out. Sean figured if this slut was going to sell herself like an object, he could look at her like one.

“What do you want?” he asked curtly.

To her credit, his hostility and ogling didn’t seem to affect her.

“Is Gabriel here?” she asked.

“Does it look like he’s here?” Sean asked, like she was a moron.

She shifted uncomfortably. Sean thought that was funny.

“What do you need?”

“I have my report for him. I can come back tomorrow,” she said turning, to leave.

“I’ll take it,” Sean said.

She turned back to him. “Umm, Gabriel told me to only give it to him or Faith…”

Sean felt a flash of anger; who did this whore think she was?

“Look, I’m a cop and you have information on a case I’m working. You have two options here; you can give me the information you have OR I can throw you in jail for obstruction or solicitation, I’ll let you pick the charge,” he said smiling sarcastically.

Mandy stuttered, “O-OK, I can give it to you. Should I sit down?”

Sean was fine with the view he was getting now. “I didn’t offer you a seat.”

Mandy stood for a moment before speaking. “I was able to find out more about the organization you’re looking for. They are running out of a hotel downtown. I think they have a few other high-end locations. I talked to one of their girls and she said it’s not a bad gig. A pimp waits in the lobby and then sends Johns up to the girls’ rooms. She wasn’t sure if the hotel was in on it or not. They are also moving drugs and they have a few motels around town they are running.”

“Are Mutari at all of them?” Sean asked.

“I’m not sure yet. I’m sure they are out of the higher end places, but out of the motels, I wouldn’t think so.”

“And why is that?” Sean asked.

“Succubi walk a line of finding Johns who have a lot of Vis and can pay a decent price,” she explained.

“Fine, give me your number in case I need more information,” Sean said.

Mandy didn’t argue as she wrote down her number on a piece of paper, handing it to him.
